The CSST team has shared an update on the Combined Sewage Storage Tunnel project schedule as it relates to work at Site 5C (the intersection of Queen Victoria and River Lane).
With assembly of a noise barrier at Site 5C now complete, the contractor indicated that shoring construction is underway.
The CSST project team has informed me that this work includes drilling piles (metal support columns) into the ground using a vertical drill, compressor, loader, and excavator. This work will be intermittent and may result in noise levels exceeding 100 dBA at source. According to the most recent project schedule, shoring work at Site 5C (including excavation of earth and rock) is expected to take approximately 10 weeks.
Based on the project schedule, this work had been expected to commence in 2018. The CSST team is preparing a new schedule, which I will share when it's available. The most recent schedule for the overall project can be found here. Any questions about this update or the construction work can be directed to the CSST team via the contact methods listed below.
